Kindness Isn't Weakness

Join me on my relentless pursuit to be more, do more, and live an unreasonable life.

Some people will tell you that being kind is weak. They’re wrong.

It’s easy to mistake gentleness for fragility, empathy for naivety, or kindness for weakness. But I’ve never met a truly kind person who was weak.

The kindest person I know is my wife — and I’ve seen her stand firm in storms that would’ve broken most people.

Where the Misunderstanding Comes From

Kind people get taken advantage of sometimes. That’s true.

The world has its share of opportunists — people who interpret compassion as an opening to exploit.

But here’s the danger: if you let those experiences harden you, you risk losing one of the greatest strengths a person can have — the ability to care.

Cynicism is easy. Kindness requires courage.

The Truth About Kindness

Kindness isn’t weakness. It’s strength under control.

It’s the decision to put others first when you could easily protect yourself instead.

It’s choosing to see people for who they can become, not just who they are.

It’s doing the right thing quietly and consistently (even when no one notices).

That’s what true strength looks like.

The Example Worth Following

I tell my kids to look at their mother’s example. Her kindness isn’t loud. It doesn’t announce itself. But it’s relentless.

Her kindness has boundaries. It’s rooted in conviction, not convenience.
And that’s what makes it powerful.

Real kindness requires discernment — knowing when to extend grace and when to stand your ground.

  1. Lead with empathy, not ego. You’ll always learn more by seeking to understand.

  2. Protect your heart, but don’t close it. Strength without compassion is brittle.

  3. Model what you want others to mirror. People will remember how you made them feel more than what you achieved.

  4. Anchor your kindness in faith. It’s the only way to keep giving without growing weary.

The Bottom Line

The world doesn’t need more clever, cynical, or self-interested people.

It needs more people strong enough to be kind when it costs them something.

Kindness isn’t weakness — it’s the quiet strength that holds families, friendships, and faith together.

Don’t settle. Be relentless.
